A wedding picture story from the rushmore estate, dorset
Emily & Will’s Rushmore Estate country wedding was held on a glorious summer day and involved memorable carriage rides along winding Dorset lanes. I joined Emily as she sipped champagne at the King John Inn, Tollard Royal whilst waiting for her horse drawn ride to tiny Chettle church. The church was connected to beautiful Chettle House, an 18th century country manor. Emily & Will ran a popular shoot on the estate and had been lent the grounds for post service drinks and wedding pictures. Will & Emily’s brilliant sense of fun was mirrored by their guests and there was a wickedly fabulous atmosphere throughout the day. Top hats and tails, glasses rarely empty, and a wonderful quality pub reception. I’d never laughed so much during speeches, and the care free abandon of the dancing was something to experience. I also learned a valuable lesson in wedding photography planning and navigation. In these highlights, you’ll see a few pictures from Emily and her brother’s carriage ride to Chettle church. I’d arranged to scoot off ahead of the carriage to make some pictures of it winding it’s way through the valley. This would have been a better plan if google maps hadn’t failed to connect leaving me to guess my way along hidden country lanes to Chettle church. I somehow found the church and was ready to photograph Emily as her carriage arrived, and only confessed to them later on how close I’d come to missing their wedding ceremony. A planning error never made again.
If you like what you see, and fancy finding out more about the photography I could produce for you, I’d love to hear from you..
